WACREN presented an African outfit to Mr. Peter Kaba, as a token of appreciation to him for being very instrumental in securing a head office space for WACREN at the Vice Chancellors Ghana (VCG) Office Complex in Accra.

During the presentation, WACREN Board Chair Prof. Nii Narku Quaynor expressed gratitude on behalf of WACREN to Mr. Kaba for being supportive in WACREN affairs and REN activities in general. 

He requested that Mr. Kaba continues to do what he can to continue supporting the regional body as it continues on its strategic path.

On receiving the gift, Mr. Kaba also thanked WACREN for the gesture and honor done him.

He promised to do his best to support the efforts of WACREN in connecting various countries to the network to aid research, education and development in the region.

WACREN CEO Dr. Boubakar Barry, on his part said, WACREN is open to ideas and initiatives from GARNET and the leadership of the other NRENs to achieve the common goal of exploring the potentials of REN to the benefit of Africa. 

WACREN also paid a courtesy visit to the new Executive Secretary of Vice Chancellors Ghana (VCG), Prof. Ebenezer Appiah-Kubi. 

Representing WACREN were the Board Chair and the CEO. The two assured the new Executive Secretary of a cordial working relationship. The immediate past VCG Executive Secretary who is also GARNET Coordinator joined the WACREN delegation.

Prof. Appiah Kubi assured the WACREN officials of his support to the organisation and REN efforts in the region.
