The Board of WACREN has appointed two new Board members – Prof. Souleymane Oumtanaga (Côte d’Ivoire) and Dr. Joshua Atah (Nigeria) This follows a resolution at the WACREN 2019 AGM in Accra concerning reforms in the governance structure and composition of the Regional REN, and a nomination process. Prof. Souleymane Oumtanaga is a lecturer-researcher at Institut National Polytechnique Felix Houphouet Boigny (INPHB) and responsible of LARIT (Research Laboratory in Computer Science and Telecommunication). Hisbackground is computer science and telecommunications. Dr. Joshua Atah is a PhD holder in Electronic Engineering. He brings many years of deep experience in engineering, having practised for a long time. Dr. Atah strandles this technical field with administration.Currently, Dr. Atah serves as theManaging Director of the Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN). The two have replaced Prof. Michael Faborode (Nigeria) and Mr. Anicet Andjouat (Gabon), both of whom served WACREN creditably.
